The Lighthouse Boys version of the Ronny Hinson song “When He Was on The Cross (I Was on His Mind)” reached #2 on the iTunes Christian Music Charts in the country of Papua New Guinea.
The song recently hit #3 on the iTunes Music Charts also in Papua New Guinea, this success comes a little over 20 years since its original release to CD on the album “Golden Classics 2″.

The Lighthouse Boys 2002 Single “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power” reached #1 on the iTunes Christian Music Charts in the United Arab Emirates. The song was recorded between 2001 and 2002 with Producer Mark Yeary who was a member of Merle Haggard & The Strangers for 20 Years.
The Lighthouse Boys first released the single as part of a various artists project for the International Association of Music Ministries IAMM as well as a single song CD at their concerts.
The single features all music recorded by Mark Yeary and extra guitar tracks by Tom Hood. The song was the first to feature all four classic members which included the original founding three members of The Lighthouse Boys since The Lighthouse Boys debut album in 1980.

Heads up Bakersfield, are you ready for some great Gospel Music? The Lighthouse Boys are performing on Father’s Day June 21, 2020 at 11am, Calvary Gospel Tabernacle 424 Sterling Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
This will be the first performance with Bill Underwood since his Heart Transplant in 2019. Make plans to attend.

An update on Bill. Bill had his Heart Transplant in February of this year. The heart is doing great. Bill had some other health setbacks to overcome since the surgery.
This past August, Bill finally came home to recover and has been going through physical therapy at home. The many months in a hospital bed has caused Bill’s muscles to weekend to the point of Bill being unable to walk or play his Guitar. Bill is getting stronger every day.
August 31, Bill joined The Lighthouse Boys at their 5th Saturday Sing in Bakersfield, CA and sang 2 songs “From Heaven’s Point of View” and “Midnight Cry” from his wheelchair, the following Sunday he went back to his Church and prayed for people. The following week Bill Preached from his Wheelchair. Bill continues to minister as Pastor at his Church and is looking forward to being back with The Lighthouse Boys on the road when he is strong enough and walking.

(Escalon, CA) The award winning Southern Gospel group from Bakersfield, The Lighthouse Boys, is returning to the area with a Gospel concert at Escalon First Baptist Church on Sunday, June 9, at 6 pm. The Lighthouse Boys are celebrating 45 years of ministry and music. They will be performing many songs from their past four decades in Gospel Music.
Since 1974, The Lighthouse Boys have been touring up and down the west coast and parts of the United States of America performing concerts in large and small churches, auditoriums, convention centers and arenas. They have also performed at some of Southern Gospel’s most prestigious events including the Great Western Fan Festival, in Visalia, CA and Suwanee River Jubilee, in Live Oak, FL.
They have released several albums. Their latest “The Lighthouse Boys Ultimate Collection” includes their latest radio single “From Heaven’s Point of View”.
Although members have changed over the 45 years of the Lighthouse Boys existence, they have always focused on maintaining their unique ‘Bakersfield’ sound. They are well known for bringing their own musical style to great Southern Gospel Classics, as well as writing and producing their own songs.

(Bakersfield, CA) The Lighthouse Boys announce the departure of Lead Singer Randy Ivie. Randy joined in 2016 as Lead Singer after a stent as tenor for Golden State Quartet and Jordan River Boys. Randy is stepping down to once again focus on the Jordan River Boys. The Lighthouse Boys appreciate everything Randy has contributed to their ministry and are excited for Randy and look forward to seeing Jordan River Boys in concert again. Randy’s last concert with The Lighthouse Boys will be on December 29, 2018 at Faith Temple Church in Bakersfield, CA. Former Drummer and Lead Vocalist Stephen Underwood has rejoined The Lighthouse Boys on stage already filling in for Bill Underwood. The Lighthouse Boys are currently looking for a lead/baritone vocalist to fill in for 2019 as they celebrate their 45th Anniversary.
Bill Underwood was sent to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after a hospital in Bakersfield was able to successfully drain fluid off Bill’s lungs and around his heart and take him off of the ventilator. He remains in the hospital in Los Angeles, CA awaiting a Heart Transplant and possible gallbladder surgery. Bill, his wife and daughter all have to remain in Los Angeles and close by after the Heart Transplant for 3 months or longer. Stephen says He (Bill) will be off the road for some time as he recovers.

(Bakersfield, CA) – Bill Underwood, baritone singer and original member of The Lighthouse Boys is in ICU and has been in the hospital since Wednesday Night, November 21st. The Doctors say he has only a 10% to 15% Chance of pulling through. He is fighting an uphill battle, he has been placed on a ventilator. The Lighthouse Boys and The Underwood family are requesting prayers.

(BAKERSFIELD, CA) It was reported that Award Winning Studio Engineer David Max Reese who recorded and mixed for KORN, Tom Petty, Big House and egineered two of The Lighthouse Boys albums 1994 Golden Classics and the soon to be released from 1996 “After I Get to Heaven,” passed away.
Please keep his family and many friends in your thoughts and prayers. Max engineered and mixed one of The Lighthouse Boys most requested songs Midnight Cry.
On Facebook, The Lighthouse Boys posted, – Max was one of a kind, had many jokes and had ears like no other engineer. We will miss who we called “the magic man.”
