HE DOES ALL THIS FOR ME

In 1973 Mark Underwood & Steve Johnson penned their first song to sing together in Church. That song would lead to the start of The Lighthouse Boys in 1974. The Lighthouse Boys would go on to record the song on their debut album. “He Does All This For Me” turns 50 years old this year.

ANNOUNCING

“The Lighthouse Boys 50th Anniversary of He Does All This For Me” EP. It rolls out to digital music stores everywhere on March 24th. Tracks have been digitally remastered from the original 1/4″ Mix Down Tapes. Stephen Underwood says “This gives a look into the sessions of The Lighthouse Boys debut album.”

JOE & KALA UNDERWOOD LEAD WORSHIP AT CCPCG EMPOWERED WOMEN’S RETREAT

HE’LL CARRY YOU TO BE RELEASED DIGITALY JUNE 7

(BAKERSFIELD, CA) – “He’ll Carry You – The Single” is set to be released to digital download and streaming platforms everywhere on June 7, 2022.

The Lighthouse Boys released the CD version on April 28th at The Great Western Fan Fest in Visalia, CA. The CD version has a bonus song “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” which features Bill Underwood. The digital version only contains the title song by itself.

THE LIGHTHOUSE BOYS PERFORM AT FAN FEST 22

The Lighthouse Boys took the stage during The Best of the West at The Great Western Fan Festival in Visalia, CA today. Their new song “He’ll Carry You” was debuted as their final song on the set. Early CD copies of the single was available at their booth. This was the first Fan Fest event since 2019. The previous two years was shut down due to Covid restrictions in California. This was also the first Fan Fest The Lighthouse Boys performed since the passing of Bill Underwood last July. Many friends and fans came by the booth to give their condolences regarding Bill’s passing.

“HE RAISED ME UP” REACHES #6 ON ITUNES CHRISTIAN IN LUXEMBOURG

The Lighthouse Boys original song “He Raised Me Up” from their debut album in 1980 and included on their latest compilation “Ultimate Collection” reached #6 on iTunes Christian Charts in Luxembourg on Monday.  The song has been charting for a week in that market.

“He Raised Me Up” was one of ten songs The Lighthouse Boys recorded at the famed Buck Ownes Recording Studios in Bakersfield, CA, and was among five songs that Buckaroos guest appeared as the band.  Jim Shaw Produced all ten songs.  “He Raised Me Up” was also one of nine original tunes off The Lighthouse Boys debut album from the pen of Mark Underwood and Steve Johnson.

JOSEPH & KALA UNDERWOOD JOIN

The Lighthouse Boys announce, Joe & Kala Underwood have joined. Joseph was with The Lighthouse Boys in 1999 and took over bass guitar in 2002 and continued until he took over the baritone vocal part from 2004 – 2005. Joe left in 2005 after he and Kala met and he moved to Madera, CA.

Mark Underwood said “I’ve always wanted to have more family involved in The Lighthouse Boys.” The new line up will begin singing immediately with an upcoming concert in Waterford, CA.

WSGMA LABOR DAY PAYS TRIBUTE TO FRIENDS

WSMGA Labor Day Celebration took place at Ceres Christian Church in Ceres, CA. The Lighthouse Boys took the stage to the surprise of many. Mark Underwood could not be there as he is still home recovering from Covid Pneumonia. Lee Hulbert could not be there because of Covid as well. Original founding member Steve Johnson and former member Joseph Underwood (Mark’s son) took the stage with The Lighthouse Boys and filling in for Mark on tenor was David Sharp (Regents Quartet.)

WSGMA paid tribute to Rev. Dick Hilleary, Bill Underwood and Rich Richards.
